Bus 142

Its been almost 6 months since I finished reading "Into the wild" and still the story remains fresh in my mind.

Homo sapiens are social creatures but does the inherent need to become social take a toll so much so that you are bound to give up everything?

How often do you come across a young person who renounces everything including the money which was reserved for his education? Or a person who abandons his car in the middle of nowhere inspite of the fact that he loves it?
How can a person be so stupid that he burns his wallet, breaks up with his family peacefully? All this for reinventing himself and to embark into the wilderness of Alaska. IDIOT..right? Well thats Chritopher McCandless 'reinvented' as Alexander Supertramp.

How often an Author of a magazine article is compelled to write a biography of a person, who is on a quest to live in the wild..whose dead body is recovered by hunters weeks after the death? In 'Into The Wild', Jon KraKauer tries to retrace the path taken by Alex in an endeavor to unscramble the mystery and machination that wilderness creates in some and the enticement of this unknown world which some find hard to refuse.

Jon's research is speck-less as he goes on to interview nearly all the people who met Alex on his way to Wilderness even though the interaction was for a very short period.

A very poignant and tender story of a lad, covering the reminiscences of Alex's sister and a sad au revior of the whole family. After Five people you meet in heaven/ For one more day, this story is one the most obsessing reads for me. The story leaves a feeling of pity for the lad who found peace in being closer to nature, a person who was full of dreams but gave up shaping them due to lack of time.

Moving from plush apartment, driving a beautiful car, having ample to eat  to staying abandoned, broken bus(142)..surviving on toxic seeds and then dying because of rabbit starvation..Thats Into The Wild..
