Earworm strikes again!

Image
Some time back I had posted an article on Earworm. Couple of weeks ago, M had posted the song "Abhi Abhi" from the movie Jism 2 on her blog and recommended it to me. Though, I liked the song then and there but it never made it to my continuous "repeat" song playlist. Now, It's been 24 hours and the only song which is on my playlist is "Abhi Abhi". It's weird how something so trivial makes a dashing comeback in your life to become non-trivial. Mood is what governs one's playlist. Probably, that is the reason why I am hooked to this song. Thanks M!

Stroll of a lifetime

"The human spirit knows, deep down, that all lives intersect. That death doesn't just take someone, it misses someone else, and in the small distance between being taken and being missed lives are changed." The first time when our hands intertwined, I knew you were the one, the chosen one for me.  For me, you were like an imaginative character from a creative tale in the custom of fairy narratives. You introduced to me a person who was just another common fella trying to make the world a merrier place to live in. But, you made the person die while he was on a mission to save a cute little girl. Just to console me, you took me to a place which was not like the Shangri-la garden, a place where one was allowed to drift on clouds and slug in streams. To my surprise, I find the person who gave up his life during the heroic event and he takes me for a stroll. Trusting him blindly, I start walking and on our path to nowhere he acquaints me to five people whom he had met during h

Mind=Randomize()

Everything around illuminates but blurs, emerging from thoughts, echoes and whispers, past is known and the future ready to tumble The memories that I'll never forget Haunts and always forces to reflect A weight causes me to sink Only allowing the briefest of blink Stains flash repeatedly in a catastrophe hurts instead of loving and reveals malevolence empathy is an enemy unlike ignorance No rest until horror is put to rest The self-conflagration I begin to detest Solid dreams I don't choose to make Forever being pulled in its wake

Waiting..

Silence pays of and so will mine. Wait is the only journey apparent over here. Freakishness isn't iniquity. Considering in a positive regard, which is so unusual it's lamentable,it may be savvied as a unique power over others. But did i say i'm abnormal?  <Naah> Another lame fish in the swarm of a kazillion; waiting for the moment when my voice will surface - when it will overpower it's helpless, submerged ego and rise! All with due elegance, higher than the myriad sea of incoherence - to stand higher than the highest - to gain and accept supremacy. And then? Well, you have to wait for it. So, I begin fresh, with greater amount of energy which over the time I have encapsulated around myself - it's like a glass shield - but a one way glass. You may not know what goes on in the inner depths of my watchful intellect; but I know that some where outside you're there ready to peep inside...Now, I know my kingdom and the powers I possess and limited though it may

Stupefying F1

October 30th 2011 and October 28th 2012 - both had one thing in common apart from being the Race Day for Indian Grand Prix! On both the dates, I left Noida to head back to my temporary abode, IMTN. I missed the Grand Prix action on both the dates but it was this time that I witnessed F1 in a different style. As different and as astonishing as one can think of. Most of the cars in F1 are near about the same in terms of power. It's more like the battle of equals. It's exciting to watch cars roaring in front of your eyes. But what if you witness F1 off the circuit? Battle of unequals! On the expressway which connects the two densely populated dwellings across the river(supposedly) Yamuna. Now, take this - You are on your way to the airport. On the expressway you see 3 Audi's and 2 Jaguars trying to overtake each other. In comes a surprise - A maruti 800 and it zoom pasts these sexy yet mean machines. Dumbfounded you are! And to top it up, the driver of the 800 shows the middle

Compromising doesn't mean..

At home, day before yesterday there was an article in a supplement of a leading national daily. I generally skip reading these supplements for the very simple reason - They contain bullshit! Who is dating who? Who is the latest victim of wardrobe malfunctioning? Who has slapped someone? Tours and travel ads! And not to forget Page 3 parties and the dress code or should I say the undress code they follow at these theme parties! But, considering the fact that I had hell lot of free time, I decided to read the supplement. After the general non-sense stuff, I stumbled upon this article which talked about compromise and relationship. The article began with the quote - "Compromising" doesn't mean that you are wrong and someone is right, It  only Means that you value your   relationship much more than your partner. The article revolved around the quote but it failed to include one basic fact that a relationship is much more than one's ego. Man being a social animal cannot af

Giving away a part of myself!

Whether good or bad - the first's in life are events which one always remembers. Be it the sight of your parents when you're popped out from your mother's womb into this world(obviously your parents remember this), the first word which you utter, you're first step on mother earth. Fast forwarding, your 1st job interview, failing miserably in it and then a you eventually grab a job in a firm which you think is the most respectable in the whole world. You get your 1st salary and without any vacillation you spend it on your parents. The expression on their face is again something which you just cannot afford to forget. So after a few more months, you finally treat yourself and buy a cell phone, the 1st huge purchase for yourself from your salary. You use it for a year and then buy another phone. In spite of knowing the fact that you won't be using the old model again, you decide to keep it as a  priced possession. Another year passes by and finally you exchange both th

If It’s Not Forever It’s Not Love - Durjoy Datta and Nikita Singh

“If you die tomorrow, what would be your last words?” Unpredictable - one word which describes life. Two things which aren't accountable to anyone - Life and Death. You might be planning something and the very next moment it might not materialize, for your life has ended abruptly. Confessing our love to some one for whom our heart beats is tough. Procrastination is what we believe in. What if the day assigned for that work doesn't come? Or you aren't there to see the sun rise that day? The book revolves around these few questions. Has it ever struck to you what would happen if your life were to end all of a sudden? What happens to your loved ones? Will they ever know how special they were for you? Entrusted with a strange responsibility of the last words of a dead man, the protagonist along with his friends sets upon a road trip to unravel the mysteries and put together the pieces of the dead man's intriguing story. The book is about where a diary takes them and how the

A gadget-y affair

One thing which keeps me going is the hunger for more and more technological stuff. Whether it's software or hardware, I just love the sight of new innovation and when I get my hands on them, I am like a 2 year old licking a lolly pop for the 1st time. Eagerly waiting for the next lick! So after a random trip home, it was a random decision to buy a new cell phone! Actually, dad wanted one and I tagged along - more like buy one get one free sorts. After analyzing few options dad decided to go for Lumia series and I went in for Galaxy S Duos. Dad had his reasons for buying a Windows based phone. The rationale behind my choice was chiefly Android 4.0 with a powerful processor and RAM. Two days have gone by and I am very satisfied with the phone. But Lumia has been a disappointment. Hangs a bit and there's no bluetooth transfer functionality, thanks to the "Secured" Windows platform. But thankfully, we had talked to the salesman that we might change the phone in case some

Euphony nourishes a worm!

Getting out of the bed is one heck of a task esp. with the onset of winters, one just cannot think of ditching the cozy bed and the soft blanket. But, the excitement of what's going to happen precisely after few hours, out powers my laziness, for it is to be my first home coming after securing a campus placement. Somehow I get out of the bed, look at the hills, orange orchard, the morning sun rays, birds sitting at the window sill and humming their own rapturous melody(a view through the window in my room - bliss..ehh?) All of a sudden I hear a song playing in some room and the very next moment I'm hooked to it.  The song stopped but I keep on humming the song all day long.  Cogitating that I'm crazy,  I tend to distract myself but the fact is that it's a phenomenon which people possessing long hair, thick specs and clad in white coats call as - An ‘earworm’.  Though there exists multiple theories which tries to explain what causes a song/tune to get stuck in your head

Life Is What You Make It - A story of love, hope and how determination can overcome destiny

"Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever Gods maybe, For my unconquerable soul……" - William Ernest Henley Reading a lot of reality rooted fiction these days, latest being Life is what you make it – Preeti Shenoy. It's one of those books which makes you restless if you don't finish it in continuation! Though I didn't manage to read it in one go but every moment when I missed to read the book I kept on thinking about the protagonist and what exactly would have happened to her life which ended her being into a mental rehab? “Aspirations of a girl”, should have been the name of the first half of the book. The story was indeed fast paced and seemingly just like any other love story. In the second part, the story hits the F5 key - its refreshingly different. Perhaps the only part which justifies the title. Deceleration takes place and the reader is more glued to the book than before. Simple narration, no jargon, good pace and

The movie that was! WHY?

You give up the plan for a special trip to a seasonal fair at a near by ghostly town just to watch a movie! Standing outside the classroom which is now converted to a theater of decent quality, Super excited you are, you wait for your friend to turn up. She turns up and the screening starts. Trailer 1, 2, 3 - Good start! With the all the credits running at the start of the movie, the excitement level increases a bit. It maintains a constant level for quite some time and then the decline starts. Initially, it's a slow fall and then BOOM! You're out of the movie. God damnit! What the hell was that? The protagonist, an idiot who is bitten by an air-breathing arthropod that has eight legs and chelicerae with fangs that inject venom plans to save the city from the wrath of a villain who is a  part of the squamate reptiles - lizards!  Bollywood movies are way better than such hollywood shit- The Amazing Spiderman . The movie truly lived up to its name - we were left amazed by what th

Red, Orange, Green and Black - Most noticeable and talked about colors these days. Whenever you're hooked up to the father of the networks you'll definitely end up noticing these colors. A simple mantra moving around these days - "Your Social network is your status". How can an online service, platform, or site that focuses on facilitating the building of virtual friends who share interests, activities, backgrounds, or real-life connections become the driving force of your social acceptability? When it comes to businesses, the social network takes a new form - social media. The popularity of a certain organization depends on the no. of thumbs on one platform or the no. of +1's on another platform it gets. Be it Facebook, Google Plus, Zurker or the old man Orkut or messengers like MSN/Yahoo/GTalk! No matter what you use, at any point in time you'll have these colors flashing on your screen. These platforms have tapped in your innate want to be connect

Superlative caliber!

You and me – we all have our frizzles. Mine pertains to rodents especially rats Poised easy-going person, but a rat brings the best of the worst out in me. A rodenticide is kept handy at home, for the explicit purpose of extirpating these 4 legged monsters. But I confess, I hardly use it. It's strictly meant for showcasing the variety of aerosols I posses! I don't believe in taking lives of innocent creature, after all I have no right to take anybody's life just like they don't have the right to take mine. Maddyiology..you can say!  Personally, I keep a good distance. My actions would scare them away anyway, leaving no hope of succeeding in the process of extirpation.  Don’t mistake me, My house or the current abode is not precisely pullulating with the creepy pests. Nor am I a coward. Only when it comes to rats well..then some fishy thing happens! Bravery, I can prove in other ways. Show me a lizard/insect and I can stare down it anytime! As for cockroaches, this is wh

I too had a love story..

A software engineer by profession and a true lover by fate, Ravinder Singh. The novel talks about the joy of friendship, griefs and troubles that one faces while travelling on the highway of life. The title itself tells the reader what to expect from the book and the review by Mr. NRN Murthy is ‘ Simple, honest and touching' .  The book describes the instances of his personal life. The essence of love and relationships in the lives of youngsters and those who have sacrificed something for other’s happiness is beautifully captured. The author succeeds in conveying his emotions to the reader and anybody who is in love can probably relate to it. Every line you read in the book makes you feel the honesty of the author. As I neared the ending, the climax became very evident and clear where it was heading towards. Here is where every line actually touches you and you feel for the author. The book unravels various facets which life can have– pleasant for some and ruthless to others. The b
