If only..

With what started as a sun lit day, was now a battle ground of wind and rain. He got out of his college and ran towards his car. The zephyr and the raindrops were enough to uplift his mood. The torrential rain made it very difficult for him to open his eyes, to get a glimpse of the darkness surrounding him. The words of his mentor -"The best things in life are the unseen, that’s why we close our eyes when we kiss, cry and dream.” flashed in front of him. He began to reflect, how could he miss another exquisite thing, which he happened to notice today? But then, all these beautiful moments of life which keeps on happening at regular intervals never last for a long time and probably that is biggest and most abrasive reality of life.

Realizing that he had romanced enough with nature, he got into the car and with shivering hands, turned it on.  In life, We change our priorities according to the situations. His top priority of romancing with the nature or returning home was now replaced with the wish to find a road side tea stall and have a hot cuppa tea. He reached the shop within a few minutes and order a cup of tea. There's always this tendency in humans that a person is frightened of becoming a loser until he has anything to lose, similar is the case with rains and humans getting drenched in them.

With a disposable cup in his hand, he got back into his car. With thermodynamics at its best, the vapors from the tea were dissolving in the water drops falling through the window. The bright lights of the vehicles coming from the opposite direction and dissolving in the darkness of the night as soon as they crossed him, was like a dream which he was seeing with open eyes.
Out of the dark clouds, like a silver lining he saw her, struggling to hold the umbrella and trying to wipe of her hair from her face. She was not be blamed, it was the notorious wind who was the culprit. Beautiful! That is what he uttered. He was already in awe of her. Her innocent yet naughty smile and a bright face made her personality an endearing one. In a perfect ambiance of falling in love, he started comparing her face to the moonlight falling on a diamond lying in a pit of coal. It was very hard for him to ignore, he asked himself, has he fallen in a love with a stranger. There comes a time, when we all are in a state of dilemma, whether to follow our heart or listen to the master above?

Realizing that he wont be able to see this moon again and wasn't sure when it would rain back, he decided to stay there for a few minutes more, just to get an experience of how it feels to see when nature is defeated badly by a woman in the war of beauty. His dream which was full of bright lights disappearing in the darkness, had turned into a beautiful one.

Something struck him. Understanding that it’s really hard to get all the solutions when life helps you feel something really beautiful out of nowhere, he didn't think of what that something was. Gathering courage and he reversed his car, and asked if he could drop her somewhere but she preferred to maintain an obvious silence. Reading her face that moment, he uttered some kind words, only to know they went unacknowledged. That is the greatest problem, you know you are true but do not know how to share your true thoughts. With few more kind words, in her voice as soothing as a piano, she accepted his arguments and sat in the car.

--Trrrrrrrinnnggg-- The alarm went off! Cursing the alarm, he got up with the dream still fresh in his mind and million of thoughts running, he pondered could he have given her the happiness and comfort she deserved at a certain point in life? What if she gets married to another person who had his own home, earning more than him? Would her parents agree choose me over that guy? Whatever be the decision, he wanted to see her happy with or without him. He realized what matters the most is not the time but how many moments you've spent together and which you still remember.. He would have got all the answers, If Only the alarm didn't go off..

  1. Makes a good read. You've put in a lot of attention in the details, very nice. The best of the lot for me, "just to get an experience of how it feels to see when nature is defeated badly by a woman in the war of beauty."
