And those 10 days...

For the past 10 days, my Internet connection ceased to be; apparently(according to the "broadband expert") because the telephone cable and the bsnl server thingy gave up the ghost.Ten whole days with no link to the outside world, except for the telephone of course, which isn’t quite the same is it?

The big shock to my system came with the realisation that for a period of time during those days I was extremely bored. It was fine while I was SCESing, but afterwards without the Internet to distract me, I had nothing to do for the remainder of any day.The evenings were like a "chinky" running behind a monkey wid a fork..All this did get me thinking about how the absence of the Internet might affect my life.. infact the majority of us in one or the other..

Since the ‘arrival’ of the 'magic' known as the Internet, we have become obsessed to some extent with the speed with which it lets us live our lives.Do you remember the last time you used the snail mail? Or searched the atlas to find a place? Or waited in an unending queue to get movie tickets?or purchased a CD of your favorite artist ??For many of us, life has undergone a complete change with the advent of the Internet. Like electricity and water, it has become a part of our everyday existence, and it is hard to imagine a life without the Internet.

However, to be off-line felt like some sort of isolation even though it was only temporary. It's not something I would want to happen on a regular basis, and I am sure that although we would undoubtedly cope without the Internet if we had to, the question is -would we want to?

Sure, the simplicity and speed of email would be surely missed; the comparative ease of online booking banking bhopping whoops.. shopping ;) the creature comforts that the Internet provides and what we have quickly grown to accept and expect, would eventually be forgotten or committed to a nostalgic memory, but I sincerely doubt it would be an easy transition.

We are all increasingly reliant on the Internet to make life run a bit smoother – and for me, ten days without it was more than enough to prove that.

U must be wondering y didnt I give up BSNL ?well dere were a no. of reasons -
500bucks..2Mbps..2.5Gb data limit and NightUnlimited..rarely fails(1st time in 3yrs)...ne1 who still wanna give up bsnl ??...lol..seems like am a sales man of bsnl :P :P
