Fedexadal :)

Is it a new train ? Is it a new aeroplane ? Is it a new cuisine ??Is it a new word ??
yes it's a new word.. meaning..Federer n Nadal i.e. Roger Federer The King of Tennis and The King of Clay, Rafael Nadal.

On the 6th of July, addition of another new chapter in the history of this world, the world of tennis n tennis fans was for sure.On one side it was the King of tennis, the man who was on his way to win 6 Wimbledon championships in a row, beating Bjorn Borg's record,Roger Federer and on the other hand it was the Spaniard, the king of clay Rafael Nadal.

Right-hander against left-hander; finesse against force; cardigan against clam diggers,It was Federer against Nadal.

Federer has won the Wimbledon championship five consecutive times, starting from 2003 until 2008.
Rafael Nadal won his first grass championship ever, today! He is the King of clay and has beaten Federer nine times out of ten on clay, but had never won in any grass championship. Now that jinx has been broken. Nadal shed tears of joy after he played the last game that made him win.

For the 1st time ever I was rooting for Nadal against Federer and dad was rooting for India(yeah it ws the Asia cup final.. those boring 50overs cricket matches).. and my buddies Sakshi, Ashmita, VJ were rooting for Federer..

Nadal was winning 2 sets to nil against Federer.Federer, though, came right back at Nadal in the second set, and established a 4-1 lead. But Nadal never allowed Federer to settle. Nadal's tennis was making the crowd coo and gasp; he struck one extraordinary retrieval shot from behind him as he performed the best pirouette you are ever going to see outside of London's Covent Garden. And Federer also had an idiot(lol) in the crowd to deal with.

Federer could have had a breakpoint for a 5-3 lead, but as Nadal's shot looped towards him at deuce in the eighth game, and he waited at the net, someone chose that moment to shout out "C'mon, Roger". And that cry so distracted Federer that he both fired his forehand drive volley long over the baseline and then fired a nasty look in the direction of the rogue spectator.

1st set was 6-4 to Nadal, 2nd set was 6-4 to Nadal, 3rd set was 7-6 to Federer, 4th set was 7-6. Then the 5th set was very hectic and heart pounding.

Nadal had previously held two championships points in the fourth-set tiebreak. But Federer saved them both, on the second hitting a backhand pass down the line that will be replayed 10000000 times over on television screens and also in the multiplex in his own head. A weaker man than Nadal could have folded after that, but the 22-year-old steadied his nerve for the decider.

The last set was 9-7 to Nadal. The 5th set went like this: It was 6-6, my heart was in mouth while I was watching the 5hrs long match..longest ever in the history of Wimby. Then it was 7-6, then 7-7, then 8-7 to Nadal and the 9th one was 9-7 and immediately Nadal fell to the ground.

Federer is still the number tennis player in the world while Nadal is still the number 2 tennis player.
It was an awesome match..and it had to be coz it was "The final" ..between world no.1 and world no.2. It had to be special in every sense and not to mention ..it stretched for almost 5 rainy-sweaty-memorable hours.

In the near-darkness of Centre Court, Rafael Nadal lifted Wimbledon's glinting gold trophy for the first time and as always bit pineapple laden trophy. So Federer's domination of the All England Club lawns, which had lasted for five summers, came to an end on July 6th, with a forehand hit into the net.

  2. Spain ruled the summer, be it Euro, French Open, Wimby just name them and you find Spain.Firstly, Euro jinx was broken and then Wimby one! Just a difference of 2 years when they first achieved respective milestones.Nice post, I was shocked to see you are so passionate about this! So, we gotta a team to support Nadal next year.
